Our Story

Here's a confession, we are Foodies!   I've been an avid Backyard Griller for years and have always searched for better ways to make steaks, ribs, briskets, prime rib, chicken, pork chops etc.  Over the years, my wife and I have worked to perfect our recipes, not only for meats on the grill, but spaghetti, sandwiches, chicken fried steak, fried foods, veal, Chinese food, chili, soups, pizza, barbeque sauce, Mexican food...you name it and we've tried to make it from scratch. We've  been invited to countless dinners and, like you, have complimented others on great dishes and asked about recipes.  Like I said, we are Foodies.

When it comes to food on the grill, we have tried many store bought spice mixes,  but we found that we really enjoyed making our own mixes better.  After years of trial and error we finally perfected a steak seasoning in 2014.  Of course, when the weather was nice the grill was always fired up...and our guests and family raved about the food.  Many asked what the secret was and when we told them it was our own mix they wanted to know if we could give them extra to take home.  We obliged them.   They loved it and always reminded us when they ran out :) .  It was such a success that we began to make up nice gift jars and give them out on Christmas and Birthdays each year.  Needless to say, the gift jars went over wonderfully and soon became request jars!     

In Dec 2017, a coworker offered to buy all of the ingredients in bulk and pay us if we would make him a large batch of the mix.   He, too, is an avid Griller and had used all kids of rubs and mixes for years...and said that this was the best rub he had ever used.  This was very High praise from a veteran Griller.   It was such high praise that our "Idea Light Bulb" went off and we thought that if he was willing to pay us to make it, others would want to buy it as well.  We seized the opportunity and instead of making him a private batch, we started PearTree Texas LLC, named the mix HellYeah! and we began officially bottling it in March of 2018.  In fact, we had many requests for a spicier version, so we offered 2 products, Original Mix and Diablo Mix.   Throughout 2018 we have sold hundreds of bottles using just word of mouth.  We are excited that in Jan 2019 we are now offering HellYeah! available for sale online!  

HellYeah! is the perfect seasoning mix for all kinds of foods.   We can tell you from experience that these mixes are great on steaks, brisket, burgers, ribs, pork chops, chicken, soup, stuffed baked potatoes, seasoned fries, ramen noodles, cornbread mix...the list goes on and on.   It really is the secret ingredient for many of our recipes and we've received nothing but high praise from all of those who use it.
